Why train at CrossFit Spirit

Training on your own

If you are new to CrossFit, there is a massive collection of information at the CrossFit Main Site that you can tap into for free and learn about the all of the movements.  There are many people who train themselves using the Main Site information at a home gym or in a conventional gym.  I have trained this way and can tell you first hand that trying to do CrossFit in a conventional gym is difficult. Keeping the equipment you need free long enough to get through a WOD can be challenging and often the intensity level has to take a backseat in order to accomodate the conventional culture of the gym.  You also get some strange looks from the people on the stairmasters reading their magazines.

There are many benefits to train at a CrossFit affiliate

  • Movement – you will be coached to insure safe and effective movements. Sound movement is the foundation of the program and key to to achieving results.
  • Intensity – doing a WOD in a supportive team environment will up your intensity and you will get results faster.
  • Comraderie – There is nothing like experiencing the challenges and victories of CrossFit with a like minded and supportive group.
  • Equipment – we are set up with all the necessary CrossFit equipment for olympic weightlifting, kettlebells, gymnastics rings, pullup bars, plyo-boxes, rowers and climbing ropes.
  • Open Space – Unlike most of today’s gyms, our main asset is open space.  You won’t find our floor cluttered with muscle isolation euipment that limits your space to move.
  • Fun – Seeing your results and sharing your new Personal Records with the team makes it all that much more fun and exciting.
